  | The O.C. and One Tree Hill are both shows that are geared towards teenagers. Both debuted in 2003, and are now in their 4th season. The O.C. typically possesses a larger audience than One Tree Hill, mainly because The O.C. airs on Fox while One Tree Hill airs on The CW, a much less watched channel. The O.C. is set in Orange County, California, and One Tree Hill is set in Tree Hill, North Carolina, but while these locations are very opposite, the events that occur in the locations are very similar. Both shows come equipped with love triangles, lies, friendships, rivalries, and of course the element that makes the previously mentioned attributes so fascinating to teenagers-attractive casts. Both of these shows are unique compared to typical teen shows because they focus not only on the shows teenagers but also on the shows adult cast in an attempt to appeal to older audiences. The characters on the shows experience various trials, and while the obstacles faced from show to show are very different, the shows typically appeal to very similar audiences. |   |
